The lamp is made from apricot wood which is spalted giving those amazing colours. The spalting is advanced which unfortunately has changed the texture of the wood so that some sections are hard and other sections are corky and soft. I wanted to achieve the look of an honesty seedpod for the shade, but with the limited means at my disposal I don't think it came off. Enjoyed trying, though.
