A strange place

Natural, untamed, wild.

Surrounded by lush fields -

Well cared for

Grazed by sheep.

 

Open to all weathers

Hot, cold, wet and windswept

Yet, no further than a mile

From the nearest village

 

I come here in all weathers

At all times of year -

I experience the dramas

Then drive home in my van

 

This day was warm and sunny with a fresh breeze blowing clouds across the sky. I watched the shadows race over the landscape trying to get the timing right to capture aesthetically pleasing clouds with dark and light patches on the fields. As I took this photo I was standing in one of those cloud shadows making everything around me dark which exaggerated the brightness of the hill opposite.I exposed for the sky hoping to be able to pull back the shadows. It's not what I hoped for but I'm pleased nevertheless.
