VF10-6 Arched Recess in Old Iron Works Wall
This place struck me as very odd. It's the site of an old ironworks. But, it has been sanitised to the point of meaninglessness. The walls remain, but no roof. The floor area is surfaced as carpark, gravel or mown grass. However, what really struck me was the parallel between how it is now presented and how it was originally designed. Though it was an ironworks, the architecture is like that used by the Romans: both then, in its working days and now, it has been prettified. I processed this image in six different ways trying to capture something of the incongruity in its design/function and history/preservation. As you can see, I settled on a simulated vintage plate look.
Comments welcome.
