Pedindo a Deus a minha gota de água
Portuguese artist João Maurício also known as Violant painted this new mural at Paseo da Graça, one of the many historical quarters in Lisbon.
Painted for the Passeio Literário da Graça project in collaboration with the City Council, the new mural shows the image of a tree-book surrounded by clean drops of water that give the book its shape and where we can read some verses written by Florbela Espanca, a precursor of the feminist movement in Portugal. One example is the very last sentence: “Pedindo a Deus a minha gota de água” from Poema – Árvores do Alentejo.
