Footbridge

Crossing a small wash along the Lake Superior trail. This simple footbridge was hewn by hand tools in a time long past when people crafted objects slowly and built everything to last. Each beam is wide enough to give plenty of room for a stable balance while crossing. The long spans flex slightly underfoot, enough bend to feel a bit springy. Despite the years it has great strength and will serve as a crossing for many years.
