Mennonite cemetary

This special cemetery is in Stogi (gr. Huebuden) near Malbork medieaval teutonic castle in Poland. The largest and oldest (1768) olender mennonite cemetery in Poland. The tall stele are characteristic of the mennonite funerary monuments. The people were settlers of Dutch or German origin from The Netherlands and Friesland. They settled in the area beginning in 16th Century. They brought with them knowlege of agriculture, especially flood controll and were given freedom of religion and other privileges.

The neat row of nine stele were moved here to Stogi from Laskowice Wielkie i Male about 8 km away.

Salt print on Arches Aquarelle watercolour paper 180gsm

1,5% KCl and 1%gel

12% Silver Nitrate and 6% Citric Acid

The calotype negative suffered through developement and came out much thinner than expected. It will not produce a much better print, I am afraid.
