3/6 The Wasp & the Fly - 04 V 2017

During more then 6 minutes this wasp (Pemphredon lethifer) and this fly (Discomyza incurva) played hide-and-seek on top of a Rubus stem.

The wasp was digging its nest, and the fly wanted absolutely to stay on top of the stem, looking very interested by wasp activity, one time very close to enter in the stem (?!).

The wasp dont like that and many times chase the fly which returned every time.

If I am not wrong with fly id, she has nothing to do with the wasp (larvas grows in snail), so ...

The only explanation coming to my mind (if the fly is a male) would be a hilltoping behavior (?).
