Clan MacIndoe, Mombasa

Clan MacIndoe seen at anchor in Mombasa awaiting discharge overside from Nr 5 hatch into barges.

She had come from the UK via the Suez Canal, Aqaba and Djibouti. Remaining discharge ports on this voyage were Dar es Salaam, Nacala, Beira and Maputo (Lourenco Marques)

Built in 1959 by John Brown's at Clydebank, she was sold from the Clan Line fleet in 1979 and renamed 'GULF HERON', but was caught in the crossfire up the Shatt al Arab waterway and sunk the following year.
