Corncrake calling

A corncrake calling at the RSPB Balranald reserve on North Uist in the Outer Hebrides.

It was late in the afternoon, in a field behind the visitor centre, it was rather windy, as can be seen from the rather wobbly video ! It called from the field edge, then over a period of about an hour worked it's way across the field onto a pile of vegetation into the full sun. A wonderful sight and sound, magic and a privelige to see and hear.
