NOTES: Inscribed on image: "First Lamanda Park float." According to the caption to this float in the 1926 Rose Parade pictorial, "Lamanda Park, now part of greater Pasadena, represents herself very properly and very beautifully as Eastern Gateway to Pasadena; her handsome entry winning first Prize in its class and bringing new pride to progressive community." The narrative text described the float as follows, "Lamanda Park - Effectively carrying out the idea of 'Pasadenas Eastern Gateway,' the float of Lamanda Park showed Colorado Street passing through an archway into a lovely garden and orchard scene. A suburban home scene presented an alluring picture of Southern California life."
