Mesoamerican Boa Constrictor (Boa imperator)

Photographed at Pozo Azul, Costa Rica, as it crossed the footpath right in front of us. It then took up a defensive position on a raised bank where it gaped it's mouth and hissed before slipping off into the vegetation.
