Mammoth Wasp - ( Megascolia maculata flavifrons) - female.

Mammoth wasps are parasitic of the European rhinoceros beetle larva. Females have a yellow or e head. This one was photographed on the headland between Arillas and San Stefanos in the north west of Corfu.
