Iberian Parsley Frog (Pelodytes ibericus)

Squeaking shoes or a cork being pulled from a bottle, the call of the Iberian Parsley Frog has been likened to both. One thing for certain, they are very difficult to find at night in the middle of a flooded field. A tendency to sit with just their head above the water line in matted vegetation and to stop calling and sink backwards into the water when disturbed make them an awkward subject to photograph.
