A wood carving of a crashed Hurricane in Joydens Wood. A Hurricane being flown by Ian James Muirhead was shot down and crashed nearby. He successfully bailed out, but was killed in action two weeks later.
a number of other wood carvings have been vandalised and removed, but this one remains. Perhaps even vandals have respect for what is perhaps a memorial.
