A Bus Stop in Bucharest
KeithLUG proudly presents “A Bus Stop in Bucharest”, a collaboration featuring the talents of 14 builders from America, Brazil, Canada and Germany. All credit to the magnificent Cole Blaq, without whose inspiration and friendship there would be no diorama. It was Cole’s encouragement and creative spark that set this project on the path to completion, after a false start or two. Cole's "Toxi Curăța JH-200av" Hazmat team was the first model created for the group and the builders who came onboard after drew both direct and indirect inspiration from the mighty rig. Although I tried to consciously avoid direct comparisons to an 8 year old collaboration of a similar nature, Zero hour on Highway 44, they both share the same group mojo of talented builders that cannot be captured alone. So I rounded up some of the best builders and friends I have in the hobby to try and capture lighting in a bottle twice.
Although I’m indebted to all the contributors, Carter Baldwin and Matt Rountree deserve some special recognition. Matt provided the two buses, the very core of the project, and Carter sent a half dozen trucks that really embraced the mundane setting when compared to all the exotic rolling thunder. Please enjoy this model responsibly, with your favorite beverage.
If you’d like specifics on the story laid out in these 80 photos , you can ask in the comments but always remember…YOU control the action!
