IC 5070 DSS-1-PS-1-a

The Pelican Nebula, This hydrogen-alpha emission nebula, located next to NGC 7000 (The North America Nebula) in the constellation Cygnus, is an active star forming region. Both NGC 7000 and NGC 5070 are located next to the bright star Deneb. Captured 9-24-16 at GNTO using the imaging dome C-14 Hyperstar and STF 8300c camera. Guiding with PhD-2 and an Orion Star Shoot autoguider, coupled with an Orion 80 mm f/5 refractor. 12 x 2’ subframes were captured with the camera at -20º C and, together with 10 dark and 5 flat frames, processed in DSS, followed by further processing in Photoshop CS2.
