Peony 'Karl Rosenfield' 24W21 7yo Lactiflora U1 (Rosenfield, 1908) (3-DB-RD) Lactiflora Cultivar Peony, 36in.@ Maturity, RD Tall, large double, Red petals, strong stems, good cut, no fragrance, midseason bloomer , Hardy to Zone 3-8, Garden U1 (SRC Michigan) PLTD 2017.

 

American Peony Society: Double type; large; midseason. Very bright crimson with very little blue in it, outer petals large and waved, central petals incurved and notched; not fragrant. Tall; free-flowering; strong stems. Good foliage. Of good clear color, excellent form, and reliable blooming habit. Considered by many to be the best red variety. Good for both cutting and garden decoration.

 

Heirloom. Guard petals large and waved, central petals incurved and notched. AKA 'Beni-shinano' in Japan.
