Iris pseudata 'Akimatsuri' [Autumn Festival] 23W26 SPX G4- (Shimizu by Carol Warner, 2012) Cream Pseudata Iris SPX Beardless, Mature plant size: 35in., YELLOW, Peach, veined wine, but with dark style arms. , USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Month 6b, In Garden Bed G4 for 22 MONTHS (Draycott). Planted in 2021.

 

AMERICAN IRIS SOCIETY: 'Akimatsuri' (Hiroshi Shimizu by Carol Warner) SPEC-X (Pseudatas); 35", Midseason bloom. Standards creamy yellow, style arms with peach veins; falls creamy yellow, signal area very large and rounded, accentuated by brick red eyelash pattern. 'Gubijin' X mixed JI pollen.

Translation: "Autumn Festival."

 

 

DRAYCOTT GARDENS: Akimatsuri sports a large ruffled creamy yellow flower and a clump has a mass of bloom. The style arm tips are a cream color but have peach veins which give an overall look of peach in the center of the flower. The signal area is very large and rounded, accentuated by the stunning brick red eyelash pattern. The stalks have two branches plus the terminal and often carry nine buds.
