Iris sibirica 'Butter And Sugar' 23W25 sib T4- (Currier McEwen, 1976) Siberian Iris sib Beardless, Mature plant size: 27in., YELLOW, Yellow & white, USDA Hardiness Zone 3, Michigan Bloom Month 6a, In Garden Bed T4 for 20 MONTHS (Bluestone). Planted in 2021.

 

American Iris Society: 'Butter And Sugar' ( Currier McEwen, R. 1976) SIB (28 chrom.), 27" (68 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards white with greenish yellow veins (RHS 154B); Falls yellow (5C) with greenish yellow veins; white styles with yellow midribs. 'Floating Island' X 'Dreaming Yellow'. McEwen 1977. Honorable Mention 1978; Morgan Award 1981; Morgan-Wood Medal 1986.

 

Butter & Sugar has creamy white standards and butter yellow falls. Siberian Iris have medium-sized flowers on 28” sword-like stalks. Blooms profusely and is spectacular when planted in masses. Very reliable, they first flower in June, and are trouble free. This variety has been known to rebloom. Split (10) and moved to N4 on 10/19/2021. Mostly single fans. 2023 note: Looks like 8 survived with several blooming.
