Hemerocallis 'Big Birds Friend' 7/2022 Daylily U1- (Gossard, 2003) Tall Yellow Daylily , Mature plant size: 52in., YELLOW, 10in. Hugh golden yellow, USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Week ISO WW29, In Garden Bed U1 for 35 MONTHS (Casshigh). Planted in 2019.

height 52 inches (132 cm), bloom 10 inches (25 cm), season M, Rebloom, Dormant, Tetraploid, 30 buds, 5 branches, Unusual Form Cascade, Golden yellow self. (Techny Spider × Jack and the Beanstalk)

Awards: AM 2020; HM 2017

 

Gossard, James: (Gossard, James) 2003 introduction. (Techny Spider x Jack and the Beanstalk). 52" Dormant M 10" petals 2 ¼ x 6 ½ inches and sepals 1 ½ . 13" wing span 2.9:1 Spider Ratio. Big Birds Friend is huge golden yellow with 5 way branching and 30 bud count. It has been a very good garden plant, seen far across the garden. Brings genes from brother Charles and tetra Spindazzle into the unusual formed yellows. Scape height has been passed down from Jack and the Beanstalk. Fertile both ways but difficult pod parent.

 

Unusual Form: Cascade Pinched.
