mendocinomaples.com - Acer tegementosum Joe Witt is a species of Snakebark Maple with beautiful white striations on the green trunk and limbs. Joe Witt tends to have a whiter bark than most of the other snakebark maples with the bark sometimes turning almost completely white. This snakebark cultivar also has the largest leaves of all snakebarks which turn a buttery yellow in autumn. Prefers a partially shaded site. Grows to about 15'. Very cold hardy. Joe Witt was a curator at the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle and its winter garden was named for him.
