Paeonia 'Unique', 2019 photo, Common Name: (3-SL-R) Itoh Intersectional Peony, Size: 34", Medium height, single, red petals, red tipped carpels, gold stamens, fine cut foliage, few side-buds, fragrant, early midseason bloomer , Breeder: (Anderson, R.F., 1999), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Month 5c, In Garden Bed h2 for 3.7 YEARS (Swen). Planted in 2015.

 

American Peony Society: Red single—herbaceous x tree hybrid. Pollen parent. Potanini. tall yellow. Seed parent. Martha W. First bloomed 1986, divided 1989—height 30-34″. Red single with very fine cut foliage of a dark green color. Plant has excellent plant habit and very vigorous. Not many side buds. No fertility noted.

 

A little later blooming than Scarlet Heaven.
