Paeonia 'Gardenia', 2019 photo, Common Name: (3-DB-WH) lactiflora cultivar Peony, Size: 30", Medium height, double, white petals, large flower, occasional yellow stamen, sidebuds, redish stems, midseason bloomer , Breeder: (Lins, 1948), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Month 5c-6, In Garden Bed U1 for 1.7 YEARS (Holl). Planted in 2017.

 

Bred by Mr. E. H. Lins of Cologne, Minnesota and released in 1948. Named 'Gardenia' because it looks like a Gardenia (Would make a good question for the "Stupid Answers" category on Jeopardy). Dark green and fairly coarse foliage.
