A Monrovia selection.Missouri Botanical Garden: is a clump-forming, coral bells hybrid that is noted for its glossy, rounded, near black leaves that remain dark throughout the growing season. Foliage forms a compact basal mound to only 6” tall and to 14” wide. Small, creamy white flowers borne in open, airy panicles appear in late spring to early summer on slender, wiry stems rising above the foliage mound, typically to 10” tall. Foliage color for ‘Blackout’ is reportedly darker than the foliage color for H. ‘Obsidian’.
