Lespedeza bicolor 'Yakushima', 2018 photo

"Lespedeza bicolor 'Yakushima', 2018 photo, Common Name: Bush Clover, Size: 18x18in, violet purple, USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Month 8-9, In Garden Bed H1 for 9.3 YEARS (lazy). Planted in 2009.

Dwarf mounding Bush Clover with delicate violet-purple blooms in late summer. Forms a fine textured, feathery mound. Drought tolerant. Front walk, near porch. I usually prune this plant to the ground in late winter every year. It is commonly called bush clover because it is a shrubby plant with clover-like flowers. Trifoliate leaves are blue green. It suffered last Winter from the low temteratures, but it is back to form. Planted 2009.
