This tree is pretty beat up, got hit to many times with the mower. Native to northern China. Salix is ancient Latin for willow. Carl Linnaeus mistakenly believed it to be the biblical willow of Babylon. However, the biblical willow of Babylon was probably a poplar that was transported via China's Silk Road. Dying, 2015. One half of the tree was blown down in 2018.
