Peony 'Inspecteur Lavergne’ (n-spek-ter’-la-vairn) has red flowers with a tint of brown, large guard petals with frilled petals in the center (bomb like). Looks somewhat like ‘Felix Crousse’. Introduced by the firm Doriat & Son & Debatene, France. Doriat introduced around 50 peonies. Root stock had 1 large and 4 small eyes.
