The soil’s texture aids water flow and movement of nutrients. This is because the soil is very moist, and has a large amount of moisture in it. This allows water to move easily through it as well as nutrients. The types of organisms that are in the environment are many insects, water animals such as frogs and turtles, organisms in the soil such as worms and decomposers, and many other organisms that I have been unable to see. The organisms living in the soil have a positive effect on the soil. This is because the organisms decompose the nutrients so that other organisms going in the soil will be able to take up the nutrients. The water animals have a positive effect on the soil. They have a positive effect because when they die the nutrients will be released into the soil. The insects of the environment also have a positive effect on the soil. It has the same effect the water animals do by giving nutrients to the soil when decomposed. I think the soil that I sampled is likely to be eroded. This is because it is very close to a moving water source. The soil is on the bank of a stream which is connected to a very close river. This increases the possibility of erosion because the water could be sweeping soil into the river and replacing it with soil from other places up the river. The loss of soil would affect the location because it would be replaced with soil that may not have the nutrients needed for the organisms in the location. I think that main place the soil would erode to is the banks of the river and stream. It would mainly erode there because this is where the water would connect the soil harshly and be able to pull it into the water. The present of eroded soil may have negative or positive effect on the location. It could have a negative effect because it may not contain all of the nutrients needed for the organisms to survive. It could also have a positive effect on the soil because it may bring more nutrients than it is used to. This would cause the carrying capacity to possibly increase because there would be nutrients left over. It is important to think about soil texture so they can understand the interactions between soil organisms. It is also important because it helps to understand the biotic and abiotic factors of the environment.
