Secret

I booked a BB and spent a few days in the far west of Cornwall

The weather was terrible, all foggy and wet so I went for a late night shot at Lanyon Quoit an iconic spot on the barren area around St Just

This was taken at 11pm and was backlit by torch light - a first for me .

The technic is to keep shooting different exposures until you get the right one - so you take a test shot and see if it's over or under exposed. You can't meter for the torch light so it's trial and error - the camera is set up about four inches from the ground then I would set the exposure grab the torch and paint the light on to the subject it took 25 attempts to get a result I was happy with and took me two hours to complete and I have got to say it was arduous work.
