Weaste Aggregate Wharf
The former oil wharf at Weaste, long-abandoned, is being redeveloped as an aggregate terminal. The trees have been cleared, the wharf refurbished and other construction is in progress as seen here.
I am told that the operator of the Mersey dredger 'Admiral Day' has acquired a former Harker barge and plans to use it to bring dredged aggregate up the ship canal to this wharf.
Together with the adjacent Premier Cement wharf, this will be a convenient source of construction materials.
