Manchester Explorer
Vintage slide by Leslie Gordon.
Vessel 'Manchester Explorer' in Manchester Docks.
Built by Cammell Laird in 1952, she was intended for the Great Lakes trade (some years prior to the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway) and to fit in the locks she was smaller than most of the Manchester Liners fleet.
This pale green livery was introduced on some ships around 1958, I guess the photo dates from around 1960?
