Going back east will always be like going home.. no matter how long I've live out west. I am second generation Italian American born in the US. My relatives immigrated from Italy and Sicily to Jersey City, New Jersey. Its always difficult to explain to my west coast cohorts what being from New Jersey is like.. and what is was like to have NYC as my stomping ground for 20 years. I try to use adjectives to describe it.. but it's really about a vibe.. something that is difficult to put into words.. It's a hustle .. a pulse.. being spoiled by the rush of just walking down the street. The dizziness of the culture.. sub cultures.. the art of the landscape.. the layers of attitude... It envelops you....
