After 3 weeks vacationing in Guadeloupe, I came away with an appreciation for a simple life, one without all the little things we think we need in our life. Three weeks on an island speaking a language that I was mediocre at best, I nevertheless was so grateful to have the opportunities to struggle with my french, from asking for directions to understanding the news on TV to buying food on the streets and to making new friends... Everything was different from my everyday life here in the states, but somehow I grew to love it. The challenges I faced made me appreciate what I have in my normal life and at the same time made me fall in love with life on an island, especially one such as Guadeloupe. I am happy to say after 3 weeks, my french has improved so much that I almost felt like a frenchman :) I took a lot of pictures, mainly snap shots of my family. I managed to take a few LEs such as this one and I will share them here. I hope everyone's summer's been good! I will check in with your streams sooner rather than later.
