1966 Volkswagen Dune Buggy
Built on a 1966 VW Bug chassis with a 1300 CC Engine. The one piece fiberglass body was the popular Meyers Manx design finished in BC/CC red metallic. The outer floor pan perimeter was reinforced with 2 inch square tubing and the floor pan was replaced with 1/4 inch corrugated sheet steel. A rear skid pan under the engine was added for protection and the square tube front bumper was filled with lead wheel weights to assist in holding the light front end down. The front seats are Triumph sport car and the rear seats are plywood with foam cushions. All seats are covered in black and white leatherette. The wheels are standard chromed VW with wider rims on the rear only and Porsche hubcaps. It was truly an at home vehicle at the cottage on Lake Huron during the summer time.
