Luke Lightning
In this scene shot on slide film about a year into my Air Force career (1998) I went out to the base during an intense thunderstorm to shoot a few of the over 200 F-16s at the time. Today this shot is not possible as sunshades cover the aircraft/parking ramp. I blessing for maintainers (I was one of them) during the extreme Phoenix heat, the sunshades make it impossible to take a good picture. Hard to believe I took this shot nearly 20 years ago at my first base....where I am back stationed at again. Those aircraft are assigned to the 310th "Top Hats".
