dajavous says: . Here's a feeling that almost everyone can empathise with. There is a saying - if you want something done ask a busy person... Charis says: "So much Photoshop - So little time! The last three months were like hell..." The tasks that he had to do were a two-volume book for Adobe Photoshop CS3 totalling 150.000 words before the manual had been written - but his friends helped. However, there is no such thing as a free lunch, so he was roped into a simultaneous tour of presentations all over Greece. Fortunately he survived - with sanity more or less intact. (The icons used in composite image are the new icons for Adobe CS3. Best viewed large)

dajavous says: . Charis says: "NeoCubism II These images belong to a long time experiment I used to call "Neo Cubism". I am creating an image using various sizes of a the same photo." The effect is startling, cool but fiery, liquid yet icicle-brittle. (Alfred Hitchcock would have approved.) Check out the series: I - is extremely fractured, like a futurist painting III - has the quality of shards of mirror glass.

dajavous says: This split personality is actually a modified self-portrait. If you have these skills you can never have a bad side. Charis says: "The VAIO guy This image is created for a cover advertising of the new Sony Vaio laptop in RAM magazine in Greece. The cover page is divited in two different half pages opening and presenting the Sony laptop. The brief was asking the creation of an image of a guy in middle 30s with two complementary identities. The first was this of a temporary business guy. The second of a ordinary guy with a trendy look and style. As the whole project had to be finished in a weekend or a couple of days more, I had no other option than using myself as a model..." He had to make a few adjustments - read the full story on his photostream.

dajavous says: I don't do football - must be the absence of a Y chromosome - but I recognise inspiration when I see it. Charis says: "Pato: Brazil 2010 Subject, Inspiration: Best viewed large Attention: Big file. (9728 x 10752 pixels) Experimental mosaic illustration and poster for the Brazilian national football team and the talented footballer Alexandre Rodrigues da Silva aka Alexandre Pato. Inspired by the Brazilian flag and of course by the Brazilian national team. I may be a devoted fan of Italy and USA but I have to admit that these Brazilian guys are not playing. They are dancing! Pattern, Grid: I am still experimenting with the African inspired patterns. I am trying to simplify the patterns in order to produce a more international and more contemporary style. Colors: The color set includes 3+3 spot colors. The first three are the colors of the flag and I also have used three intermediate tones. Credits, Licenses: Based on a photo by Sportgraphic downloaded from Shutterstock. See all of my Brazil in South Africa 2010 illustrations."

dajavous says: . Charis says: "Barack Obama: Hope over fear (Mosaic Illustration) In one week, we can choose hope over fear, unity over division, the promise of change over the power of the status quo. In one week, we can come together as one nation, and one people, and once more choose our better history. dajavous says: A beautiful optimistic image. I have seen some great results with this transformation - look at this one by photomastergreg, which I included in a gallery I called "Focus!" www.flickr.com/photos/photomastergreg/3206428813/ Charis says: "Planet Toscana I (Tavarnelle, FI) A small planet of a beautiful tuscan field near Tavarnelle (Florence, Italy). dajavous says: A wonderful image, which I have positioned in my gallery looking across "Planet Toscana" towards "Hope over Fear". I'm not surprised that this is an award-winning artwork - its amazing and completely "on message". Charis says: "HERmark: A revolutionary test for breast cancer HERmark is a revolutionary test for breast cancer by Monogram Biosciences. www.hermarkassay.com/ We made the portrait of this woman made out with proteins in collaboration with Purohit Navigation. PN is a Chicago based advertising firm specializing in medical and pharmaceutical communication. Today we have known that our work has been awarded with the prestigious IN-AWE award, the International Award of Excellence, organized by the Healthcare Communication and Marketing Association (HCMA). www.medadnews.com/News/Index.cfm?articleid=637310 We are very happy for this!" The image contains pairs of images of protein molecules (made with space-filling models). [Warning - geeky biochemistry stuff: They seem to be reflected images - I don't know if the test active is a racemate, but in general biological systems often only respond to one sterio-isomer. It's OK - normal service will be resumed - I used to be a chemist and I was having a bit of a throwback moment.] Charis continues: "This image is copyrighted. Please, don't use it for any commercial project. ©2008-2009: HERmark, Purohit Navigation, Tsevis Visual Design Many thanks to Melanie Fiacchino and Bryan Babiarz @Purohit Navigation."

dajavous says: A fitting place to end this gallery. I hope that you have enjoyed it and that it you have explored all over Charis's photostream - especially the larger images - leaving behind a scattering of comments and faves. Charis says: "See'n'Read my lips... I made this ad for my studio back in 2002. Recently I found it again and decided that it still satisfies me a lot. I wanted to express the meaning of visual communication and playing with the baloon symbols I did this. The small icon on the eye is my studio's logo."
