Board for BCD 40th Anniversary Meeting Plus Booklets in progress IMG_20250217_103930
BCD is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2025. David & I have made this board for our house party using photos of older meetings gathered from some of the longer serving members. Surviving founder members can be seen in the BCD magazine extract on the top right corner of the central panel. A list of Committee Members from the last 25 years are on the right board. The central booklet contains our house party programmes and some photos from the events I've attended since the 2015 30th Anniversary house party. Our first house party was in 2006.
BCD Chairman Pete Day will be giving a talk about our history at the house party on Sunday.
Benevolent Confraternity of Dissectologists - BCD - has always been about people as much as jigsaws. The board will have the title
People, Places & Puzzles.
Our founding Life President Tom Tyler (shown here with his 1997 book, and accepting the Spilsbury Award) spoke movingly of this in his last address at the dinner of the 2020 house party (before the pandemic hit), and in the last virtual meeting he attended, where he spoke about his visit to Linda Hannas (out first Life President) in the nursing home she was then living.
In front of the board are three booklets which show
- All our BCD House Parties from 2006
- Restrospectives for Genest Le Colimacon and Heather Prydderch. You can see albums and galleries to both these great cutters on flickr.
