The right edge is stepped - I don't know why - perhaps David had problems with paper alignment or a fault in the plywood there. The depth of colour in the image would have benefitted by having a matte or semi-glossy varnish, but it is fine really. It would look amazing in a professionally printed gold foiled print.
Freya's Tears, also known as Golden Tears, is a painting by French artist Anne-Marie Zilberman using gold leaf that is often attributed to Gustav Klimt. The painting, a portrait of a woman crying, is considered one of the most emotionally charged works done in Klimt's style.
Freya is one of the most Influential and important Gods in Norse mythology – the Goddess of Fertility, Love and Beauty. She married Óðr, a mysterious god whose name meant "furious and passionate", who often went away on long journeys. When he disappeared Freya wandered in search of her beloved, weeping in despair of not finding him. As her tears fell on the ground in drops, they transformed into pure gold, and those that fell into the sea, turned into amber stones.
