Chestnut & Hemlock 213pc Le Feu George Barbier cut 2024 Appleply Terra Rodgers 5

This is surely also right for the theme of Celebration - perhaps at New Year, or just a swinging party.

I thought that this would qualify as 'New, Blue'
Chestnut & Hemlock 213pc Le Feu by George Barbier , 1925, 6.5x9.5in 2024 Terra Rodgers. 3.5pc/inch. Curl & knob connectors, some colour-line cutting & firework dropouts.
At the meeting David was working on the second of the jigsaws cut by Terra Rodgers which I brought back from Puzzle Parley 2024. It is the first of the new hand-cuts we've tackled. By the end of the meeting he had all the easy parts done and had left me the sky, which I knew had sliver dropouts!
I took time out from putting together this flickr album to complete this jigsaw. It was difficult and satisfying but the density of firework sparkles and the pleasing piece shape variation in the curl cut gives you enough to work with.
The image is 'Fire', one of a series of Four Elements from Falbalas & Fanfreluches, Almanac of Present, Past and Future Fashions, 1926. Air was cut by Paul Hughes of Loubud Wines for Swiss BCD member Regina - I also have one of these on order.
I have a related Barbier work in a laser-cut jigsaw from Liberty, which is a Special Edition from 2015, with a fancy frame and shows a Venetian gondola under a firework display.
