Nymans Landscape With Ruin DSC03618_stitch
Nymans panorama showing the relationship of the house walls, the main lawn, large Cedar (centre) & Golden-Variegated Tulip Tree (left) and some of the formal areas. Behind the formal hedge on the left is the Sunk Garden & Loggia.
Dominating the main lawn is a veteran 160 year old Cedar of Lebanon and competing for size is a magnificent magnolia (presumably Magnolia grandiflora) growing against the wall of the house.
Topiary in the house & gallery entrance of the ruined house walls of Nymans includes 'Art Deco birds' in box (more signs of dieback) and a battlemented yew hedge which surrounds a small box square. The walls and gable of the ruined house are covered in lush growth.
