Vintage 900pc Indian Sweet Shop ES Hardy 1pcmiss 3repl 24x18in 8
With the theme of 'Beyond European Shores' I am expecting to see some vintage jigsaws made from illustrations by ES Hardy. ES Hardy was Beatrice Evelyn Stuart Hardy, born c 1865-70 into a family of British artists. She worked for famous publisher Ernest Nister, illustrating and also writing some children's books. Her illustrations were of Mother Goose, fairy tales, Biblical, Indian and Far East subjects. This included a Mahabharata adapted for children.
I first noticed this jigsaw for sale in June 2016 and it has resurfaced on ebay now - sadly with a further missing piece and at a vastly inflated price! If you feel inclined for a tough negotiation you might be able to rescue & restore it. (2016 price £20+pp - currently offered at £150!)
Vintage 900pc Indian Sweet Shop by ES Hardy, 3repl (now additional 1pcmiss) 24pt8x18in. Some paper lift & loss. Semi-interlocking frame & push-fit centre with rounded cloud-cut. Limited line-cutting. Cutter unknown, but looks like the box could have been a library one.
