Heather's Largest Personal Jigsaw Puzzlewood 2039pc 28in square 3D-enhanced Edges 4
Heather showed the largest jigsaw she has ever cut, 2039pc. The jigsaw is about 28in square and is 3D-enhanced so that the figures in the corners stand proud of the map. It was cut as a gift for her daughter's birthday and she won't make another one. I would love to see a better photo of this one - perhaps next time her daughter makes it.
Left: Puzzlewood 2039pc Terry Pratchett's Discworld Mapp, 28in sq, 3D-enhanced.
Right: The Discworld Mapp (1995, Stephen Player) at the British Library.
The Discworld, as its name implies, is a flat disc on the backs of four elephants, who are in turn on the back of a giant turtle, Great A'Tuin. For features of the map see:
discworld.fandom.com/wiki/Discworld_geography
The fold-out map is designed by Stephen Player and may be part of a 1995 book set.
I saw this map displayed at the British Library in the 'Fantasy Realms of Imagination' exhibition (end 2023-4 ending 25th Feb 2024) which was hugely enjoyable. Shockingly, the British Library is the victim of a hacking ransom attack, and its website was down at the time of our visit.
