BCD House Party Vintage 17thC Scee by Ellis Silas DSC06219
Plywood: Left Half of a Larger Jigsaw Vintage 17thC Street & Market Scene by Ellis Silas
This jigsaw forms the left half of a larger jigsaw housed in two boxes which have become separated. Its right margin, once the central cut of a larger blank, has 5 protruding knobs and six holes and it was bought knowing this. The illustration is very colourful (with many pink-purple-blue tones) whilst the cut is push-fit and quite difficult. It has 746p and measures 22x18 or 20in.
I think the cut might be by Rabblah. I also have another jigsaw by a different cutter which shows the full scene – two women accompanying the little girl are being shown a bolt of cloth by a shopkeeper.
Neville Library puzzles were often stored in 2-boxes, but the cuts are not similar to that of David’s jigsaw.
