BCD S&T Cardboard & More Quest 2 VR Headset Game Puzzling Places David A 6
3 Jigsaw-related games for the Occulus Go Quest 2 virtual reality headset: Puzzling Places, Jigsaw 360 &
Cubism
David A showed still images and videos of three different types of virtual reality puzzles he had tried out with his Quest 2 VR headset. Unlike the shortage in supply of real puzzles during the pandemic, there were no issues in buying these if you already had the headset.
His first used a 3D scan of the isle of Mont St Michel, from the game Puzzling Places which has the highest customer rating of any game on the Quest 2 heaset) and uses 3D scans of real locations. He showed the isle of Mont St Michel, which has a 3D surface only rendered on the upper side - the underneath is grey. The surface has to be rotated and manipulated to see all of its surface and place pieces.
Up to 400pc float around you, so the puzzle can be assembled in mid-air while standing up – no back ache, fighting over the table or lighting issues! The level of detail on the building & location scans is phenomenal, and as you zoom into the image the sounds change to be appropriate. Some images like the ruined castle are modelled inside and out so the pieces are 2-sided, making a single image.
