Four Examples of a Westminster Mural Jigsaw King John & Magna Carta by John Simms 9

A survey of jigsaws of King John & Magna Carta for the History theme. These are of Westminster Mural painting King John & Magna Carta by HC Simms, 1925. I don't know which (if any represent the true colour tint of this painting. I must say it seems quite a strange composition, and stylistically quite out of step with all the other murals.

Top Left & Centre Left: Victory Gold Box Super Cut 1000pc, 26x21.3in. An example sold by stgenix in May 2019 -possibly when his camera settings had gone awry. Note the line cutting, wavy edge and shapely whimsies.

Lower row: Two examples of the 'ordinary quality' Victory Gold Box 1000pc jigsaws. The one on the left was sold in Aug 2015, whilst the two details on the centre & right are from a jigsaw sold in Oct 2014.

Top Right: This jigsaw is Fortnum & Mason 1400pc King John & Magna Carta, measuring 31x21in. It is an interlocking jigsaw without whimsies. This huge 1400 piece plywood puzzle, probably dating from the 1930's was retailed through the renowned London Store, "Fortnum & Mason", but was almost certainly made by AVN Jones in their "Delta Fine-Cut style". You can see it on Jigasaurus. David sold it in Dec 2016.
