PF - WG Evans 500pc Defenders of Right & 50pc Tuck Contract Manufacturing 1
A small jigsaw of this image was brought to the BCD meeting themed History. I think it is a vintage Geographia/Tuck 50-80pc Defenders of the Right – the jigsaw showing soldiers from all the British-allied armies and navies who fought in WWI with text identifying them below the image. The credit ‘Produced by Geographia Ltd 55 Fleet St, London EC' is in the corner within the band of explanatory text. The jigsaw sported four whimsies, including a leg (characteristic of Tuck) and a hatchet.

Lower Left: In my records there is a postcard-sized jigsaw in a Tuck ZagZaw box with the same title, 50pc Defenders of the Right, The jigsaw measures 7x5in and was resold in Apr 2014.(I don't have a photo of the jigsaw itself.)
Remaining Photos: A 500pc WG Evans jigsaw of this image (without the text) was marketed by Picture Puzzle or WG Evans. Evans jigsaws have a characteristic set of whimsies, which are usually surrounded by a halo of pieces, which you can see most easily in the detail above the Tuck box. Flags, pickelhelms, artillery guns, horse's heads are all typical Evans whimsies. Evans boxes are often small and use this label with a decorative printed border. WG Evans puzzles are thought to have been made by Tuck cutters.
