Three vintage jigsaws from the 1912 Pears annual print, A Rustic Beauty by William Affleck, and the model is the artist's wife who appeared in several of his paintings.
Left: Geographia 300pc Pears A Rustic Beauty - cut in solid mahogany, 17 x 13 in and dates from the 1920s. The cut is semi-interlocking in an interesting looping style. The puzzle is complete and totally original and in excellent condition. One nib has been repaired. The box is in good condition with an attractively decorated lid. Geographia puzzles of this period are rare and this is the only one stgenix has seen made from a genuine "Pears" Print. Bought Aug 2017.
Centre: Vintage Pears 400pc A Rustic Beauty, 17.5in high (44x32cm), 2pcmiss & 2knobsmiss, sold Aug21 by mrminou for £10. Jigsaw renovated by stgenix and resold within weeks for £25. Interlocking or semi-interlocking cut. Blank halved with a horizontal cut, then quartered and cut into vertical strips, the cuts have larger knobs - pieces separated off with smaller knobs, the cuts sometimes bisecting the larger knobs on vertical cuts. Probably solid wood, but can't be completely sure. No original box.

The blank has been quartered, first by a horizontal and then vertical wavy line, It has been dissected simply, often with slightly wavy parallel cuts, without formed knobs or line-cutting. The box retains the title from the original print. The Pears logotype is in the top left corner.
