Five Contrasting Vintage Cuts Georges Maroniez Bringing In the Catch 7

This colourful painting by Georges Maroniez has been cut by many different cutters in contrasting styles and under many names: 'Bringing Home the Catch', 'Sunset in Brittany', 'Sunset on the Waters', 'After the Catch', 'The Fishing Fleet', and 'Dutch Fisherman'. I put this together because of the fabulous example shown by Pete - a 700pc Fortnum & Mason Puzzle made by French maker Vera (see below).

Left Top & Bottom: Tuck ZagZaw 1300pc Sunset on the Waters, an earlet style cut with many small and finely crafted whimsies. See Jigasaurus for more details of this beauty:

Centre Top: The Bedford (Expert cut for JR Hockcliffe) 700pc The Fishing Fleet, 23x19.5in. The blank was quartered and dissected in the fantasy Expert style, a continuous cutting method with a regular edge and geometric shapes, including some flower shapes. This belongs to a good friend and can also be seen on Jigasaurus.

Lower Centre: Warne Chandos (Expert Cut) 200pc The Fishing Fleet. A smaller jigsaw cut by the Expert with the same regular edge as the larger Bedford, but with a plainer style that includes spirals. This was sold in Oct 2012.

Top Right: Salmon Academy 150pc After the Catch, 10x8in. A horizontal strip-cut, with bold, wavy main cuts and the pieces separated off by cross cuts with smaller knobs. Sold in Sept 2012.

Lower Right: Vintage 280pc Dutch Fishermen with Boats in the Harbour. I bought this in Oct 2020 because I liked the cut, with its spiky almost seaweed character, and I wanted a version of this painting. Sadly it has 1pc missing and 2pc broken, with no dimensios given. It is packed in a flat box, the top covered with pink patterned paper and a hand-written label. I have other jigsaws with similar boxes, but the writing doesn't match. The cut also resembles some of the Spanish budget brands - Four Fish and Three Towers, but these come in small cubic plain coloured boxes.
