Pendragon Puzzles Pete Batho - Artist & Cutter DSC00201
March 2025:
Pete Batho was a BCD member who cut a few jigsaws using prints of his own paintings as the artwork. Sadly he had a health crisis and refocused his artistic and craft activities after his recovery, cutting short what we hoped might become a long and promising cutting career. Bronwen discovered him and I also commissioned a couple of larger c500pc jigsaws. My follow-up order was not accepted. I often wonder if he is still painting and how many jigsaws he created in total.

March 2021
This afternoon my first two c500pc jigsaws arrived from Pete Batho, both featuring his own paintings.
Left: Grasmere, Cumbria, 552pc cut without whimsies
Right: Peaceful Lakeside, Cumbria 497pc whimsy cut.
Penbleth discovered Pete's work on etsy and displayed his 253pc Lanyon Quoit whimsy cut jigsaw here. We are happy to welcome Pete to the BCD and expect to get to know him and his work much better in the future. With a bit of luck I may get to start on one of these this weekend, depending on how the other jigsaws I have picked out go.
