Rear Cut Fret-Saw Over the Garden Wall Pears DSC08932

This second vintage jigsaw (one of three) is Fret-Saw 217pc Over the Wall by Fred Morgan, from the Pears 1910 Annual. It is cut from solid wood, measures 19x12in, and has one reasonable replacement. The cutting style is smooth push-fit with rounded arms and from the front I could spot some areas of continuous cutting. I hoped to be able to trace the cutting paths - it is proving complex but I'll persevere, even if the results are fragmentary.

The other two:

270pc None but the Brave Deserve the Fair was cut with a Union Jack pattern of tight waves, the areas between dissected in roughly cloud-cut pieces with shallow knobs.

187pc Ready for the Cook was cut in a tray arrangement: very large interlocking pieces enclose a rectangular cloud-cut centre.
